The Following is a post from the Yahoo Group “Casino Comps”
re free NCL cruise certificates
Just remember that these certificates are only mostly “free” – you have to
pay the port charges, NCF fee, and gratutities ($12 per day per person) -
plus the usual extras such as soda/booze charges, shore excursions etc. The
port charges and fees can be not that low, depending on the
cruise/port/stateroom. You will also pay extra if you upgrade from an inside
to a
balcony, and so-on. Some ships have only a few handicapped rooms (depending on
the type of stateroom) as well. We paid around $600 for the port taxes and
fees for an Alaskan cruise per cabin (plus the gratuities) – on a balcony
room.
NCL knows that by giving trips to gamblers at minimal cost (the fees), they
will still make money from selling booze, shore excursions, etc., plus
probably gambling money.
