During our June 2010 trip, we had comped rooms at Venetian, New York - New York, and MGM Grand. MGM Grand was the only hotel we didn't pay the requisite resort fee at, despite comped rooms. I think comped patrons should approach a host or player services prior to paying these onerous fees at checkout, particularly if one doesn't utilize those amenities and services offered under the resort fee umbrellas at the different locales.

Cheers...

I frequently stay at Green Valley Ranch. The first time I stayed there my room rate was discounted but I did have to pay the resort fee. After I received my player's card and every trip since then, my room is comped and I never pay a resort fee. For a location away from the strip, it is a great place to stay.

Oh, Aliante is missing from your copy of the vegas.com list ( comes first in their list and perhaps was overlooked) All Station Casinos charge resort fees, but most of the regulars report not having to pay them for comped rooms.

That is the only advantage of this sneaky, fine print tactic. If you are comped where the resort fee has provided free wifi to everyone, and if you pay no resort fee there, then all the customers have paid for your computer access.

That Hilton advantage is interesting. I wonder if that is done other places as well. I never get room service as I don't trust them to keep the room secure while they clean the bathrooms or to check keys for folks who come and say they stay there. I had a bad experience at 4 Queens where I went up to retrieve 200 in silver strikes and only had to show a plastic key that could have been for any room. I was admitted and then the maid left me alone there with all these silver strikes spread on the bed while I sorted for the ones I wanted to take to the Palms.

Nice to see you taking this on.
Gold Spike never seems to appear on the Vegas.com list. They are currently at $6.99 plus tax which makes it $7.90 if my math is right.
Las Vegas Advisor is also starting to list fees, but make a mistake in the first listing.
My site is pretty basic, but I post bits of information when I get them:

This post was a good source but will no longer be updated:

The useful thing the fellow did who was maintaining this site was to figure the real resort fee by adding in the tax for those casinos that tax the resort fee as well. This makes a difference. At Red Rock for example the tax on the resort fee is more than the entire fee at Gold Coast.

The Las Vegas Hilton, which has no resort fee, will actually give you a $10 voucher, per day, if you do not use housekeeping services. You simply place a tag on the door handle in the morning. As I never need new towels, soap or my bed made up over the course of a few day stay, this is the polar opposite of those dreaded resort fees! Kudos to the Las Vegas Hilton.
